Welcome!

My first post! I'm very excited to start this website/blog/online training. Whatever this is to the individual visiting the site, I hope you find what you are looking for! :)

My reason for starting this is to hopefully help other females interested in fitness either begin their journey or continue it.

I have learned that there are a lot of ups and downs to fitness, however one of the biggest motivators is the bad-ass feeling that comes with it. Lifting weights and being strong carries with it this empowering feeling that is unlike any other. This is the reason I myself have kept up with fitness; to chase this feeling and become a legitimate bad-ass.

There are a lot of hopes and dreams that I have going forward with my fitness "career". You can learn more about me as an individual in the about me section, but here's a short summary... I first was interested in the weight room about a year and a half ago. One of my girl friends (@jconsi on instagram), who is now an awesome bikini competitor, and I asked the owner of small gym we attended if he could show us how to use the equipment. He started a group class, just for us and another girlfriend, to show us the ropes. Boy, am I glad he did! Immediately we fell in love with it. He showed us how to use each piece of equipment, which body part it worked, which dumbbell exercises to do, etc. He even had us doing barbell squats and dead-lifts. If we didn't have Freddy (the owner) I'm not sure we would ever have had the courage to just walk in and learn or ask one of the guys making all the grunting noises to teach us.

Knowing this, I completely understand how hard and intimidating it is for women to get into the weight room. I get so excited even today when I'm lifting and I meet fellow female lifters at the gym, because it's still so rare! My hope for this page is to 1. Help other females learn their way around a gym and remove the intimidation factor, 2. Find the badass strong female inside themselves, 3. Learn to see themselves and their bodies in a more positive light, 4. See that other people have the same fitness struggles as they do, and how others find a solution.

So, for myself I also have a couple of goals. I am planning on becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Sports Nutritionist, and possibly in the future go to Grad School to learn more about Nutritional Genomics. Let's see where the future takes us on this fitness journey together!

xoxo,

Fitness Girl (Instead of gossip, I'll talk about fitness!)

But really though,

Until next time,

Cam
